SPARTAN wetsuits... AWSOME !!!

Recently I got a few Spartan wetsuits to test... I tested the winter one and I have to tell you, honestly I never felt so comfortable on the water like now... Reflex 5/4/3 is just awesome. The water was around 10 degrees and I didn't feel it at all... I was sweating like crazy, so I had to crash a bit to cool down. Super stretchy and really warm... the thing I really really hate about winter wetsuits is that my hands always start to hurt, with this one the sleeves are kind of loose, which gives you great feeling. I am super excited to go sailing again. Oh yes and the Spartan winter cap... first I though I will look a bit funny, but it's cool and extremely warm... I hate winter "ninja" caps because I feel like a robot, but the "normal" winter cap I have now is super handy! Check out for more suits on spartanwetsuits.com .

Season is opened!

Past weekend brought us a lot of warm weather. South wind kicked in and it was enough for action! The forecast actually didn't look so awesome, that's why I dropped the idea to go sailing. But just as I stop thinking about it I saw that a friend happily posted on Facebook that he was enjoying his day more than anything on home lake... Oh my god... I missed sick session I thought! I checked the forecast again and it was the same... nothing special... on Sunday morning the wind was quite strong but later on the clouds came and blocked the wind. I came there with my brother and Žiga Korenč and we caught some strong gusts with 5.2. I was enjoying a lot!!! It's so nice to sail on home spots. At the end sun came up again and we finished the session with romantic sunset. What a first day at home... Can't wait for the next one.

Cape Town cruisin'

After two long years my next destination in february was again South Africa- country of one of the oldest nations in Africa. The trip to the south was pretty long and tirying. How was it? SUPERCOOL! For sure we all always want more wind as waves, because the season was not the best this year. Locals say the season from 2003 repeated this time, when some days there is wind, then 3-4 days of turism and so on... But I can not complain. Mostly I was on F2 4.8 freestyle concept and F2 96l- new one...

For those, who don't know yet... I changed from hot sails maui to F2 sails, so in 2012 I will be fully on F2 and I hope for many years more, because after a long time I am 100% happy with my gear, I feel really confident when sailing and I can perform the moves much better and easier, I still have to get used to it a little bit but it's so much more fun for me on the water. I think the gear I am using now is one of the best on the market in freestyle. So whenever you want to try, feel free to ask me, to get the picture I am talking about.

I was sailing a lot in Langebaan, like 100km to the north from Tableview, where I lived, as the wind was stronger up there. I caught some sick days in Milnerton( spot a bit more upwind from Sunset beach) and the best day I had in Witsands where we had wind from the right around logo to mast high clean and loooong lines :) My main reason beside training was testing of F2 equipment. Almost every windy day I was testing freestyle gear on the lake, in Langebaan and on waves a few hours, mostly sails. Luckily there was a few days where we had perfect conditions and I could test in 3h all sails as the wind started from very light to super hurricano. I tested all starting from 5.6 ; 5.2; 4.8; 4.4; to 4.0 on all kind of masts. That was quite interesting, instructive and very hard work. After 2 weeks the testing was finished with very positive results, like we expected. With F2 team we also had a photoshoot for F2 2013 catalogue which will come out in the next few months.

With training and work you also have to see some places and do some sight seeing. For the second time I climbed Table mountain- the flattest mountain I've ever seen, I surfed a few times, I was exploring beautiful nature with friends, tested some local wines and cheese in the nearest wine farm and said hi to the penguins in the south :P . That and much more was going on over the last month... Thanks to Jan Tomazin and  Oli Stauffacher for pics. More photos on FACEBOOK, and in april/may ;)

Postcard from 2011

If I look back, 2011 was full of different things and it has passed in no time. A lot of things happened... happy times, new places, new people, a lot of stress, problems, a lot of fun, hard work, not enough rest, parties, projects, a lot of costs, great windsurf camps, new friendships, and more and more stuff... If I draw a line, I can say it was successful year... not easy, but I appreciate every single moment. after a year I got unusual postcard:
New year is here and again new things with it... before I fly to Cape Town there is huge hill of stuff to do... I have unfinished business at university, second thing is the windsurf camp calendar for 2012 which is almost finished and looks super great ( can't wait to start teaching), my knee has to be more than 100% ready for some sick waves in CT and very interesting project has to be closed... So... full on in 2012 :) take it easy and enjoy where ever you are ;)

View from Paradise...

10 days has passed since I arrived to Jeri... Small village "close" to Fortaleza. Every single day wind. Last couple of days hasn't been really windy "just" 4.7 weather and 90l but not full power :D . Well... it looks better again in the future. So... what was going on all this time... I sailed every day, at the beginning a little bit careful but now when my knee is getting better I can sail more confident. Sailing is so much fun, especially with all the guys from all around the world. We watched Andres MINDS WIDE OPEN premiere in Club Ventos, which was totally sick and I recommend everyone to order a copy! We also have quite interesting night life here... Cool time! The other day Max Rowe, Alastair Nichol, Davy Scheffers an me went to Lagoa Azul. After 3 years I almost didn't recognize the lagoon. So much more water than last time when I was there... The wind was a bit gusty but I was powered up with 4.7 . We also did some filming a few times, so maybe there will be a short movie coming out, I don't promise anything... Next few days we are planing another 2 trips, which are super sick :) keep checking and enjoy the photos (not so much action photos yet, soon...)
